The practice at Excelsior Clinical Services provides forensic evaluations and treatment for individuals who are in the pre-trial and post-conviction stages of the criminal justice system. The practice offers in-person and virtual sessions. The practice accepts referrals from local and federal jurisdictions, family courts, mental health clinics (article 31 and private practice), and attorney referrals. The goal is to prevent future sexual harm to victims and create a safe environment for the community. Each client will be given an integrated approach to help conceptualize their individualized treatment needs. Using treatment models such as The Good Lives Model, Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, and other strength-based modalities, the practice provides a safe environment to help the client reduce feelings of shame and gain further insight into their behaviors.
At Excelsior Clinical Services, we provide comprehensive forensic evaluations using evidence-based and actuarial assessments for people who are involved in the criminal justice system. The purpose of having an evaluation is to assess the client's risk for recidivism. The practice utilizes validated assessment tools which may be used in court and at trial. The clinician will also conduct a clinical interview to obtain biopsychosocial information and criminal/sexual history information to identify the client’s dynamic and static risks.
